VIDEO: State of Housing Mayoral Forum

Mayor Jerramiah Healy declined to attend, and instead spoke before a meeting of the Van Vorst Park Neighborhood Association. He sent special assistant David Donnelly to give an opening statement.

QUESTION: What role should city government have in affordable housing development?

QUESTION: Should Jersey City based nonprofits play a role in the development of affordable housing?
QUESTION: What is your plan to create a mix of affordable housing options for populations like the homeless, the disabled, seniors, the working class, low-income folks and first-time home buyers?
QUESTION: What is your plan for foreclosure prevention and addressing the re-use of foreclosed properties in our neighborhoods?
QUESTION: In the past 10 years, Jersey City has experienced a tremendous amount of growth that has significantly increased the cost of housing citywide. What is your plan to make Jersey City affordable to its longtime residents?
