- David Cruz, who took a hiatus from blogging to be the communications director for Harvey Smith’s mayoral campaign, shares his feelings and lessons about the election on his first and second days back at blog city blog.

- Over at Left Bank Art Blog, Charles Kessler shows us some of the best and worst (mostly worst) street-friendly architecture in JC, and runs afoul of the law while doing it. Also, Irene Borngraeber laments the lack of media coverage for the Jersey City arts scene.

- Tris McCall reprises last week’s sign count, this time with a focus on Ward E.

- The Jedsey Journal, a community newsletter from the ’50s and ’60s that’s recently been revived on the internet, has a new issue out. Highlights: a review of Bob Leach’s new book on the old Horseshoe; and a look back at a historic boxing match between the legendary Bob Foster and little-known Jersey City native Frankie DePaula — supposedly a fixed match that was part of the FBI’s investigation of John Gotti.
