Provident Bank Foundation Gives Jersey City Library $15K for Security Cameras
By Jon Whiten • Aug 20th, 2009 • Category: BlogThe Provident Bank Foundation has awarded a $15,000 grant to the Jersey City Free Public Library to go towards the installation of security cameras at library branches. Thanks to the grant, cameras have already been installed at the Greenville, Miller and Five Corners branches, and they have been partially installed at the Main Library.
“We are more than just pleased” about the award, library director and library foundation executive director Priscilla Gardner wrote in a letter to Provident. “We know this is a manifestation of the excellent, long and storied relationship between the Provident Bank and the Jersey City Free Public Library, one that spans over 120 years.”
Provident, which was founded in 1839, first offered space in its Washington Street building to initially set up the library back in 1891.
