The Brennan Coffee House folk music series at the court house continues tonight at 7:30 pm with a performance by Lucy Kaplansky (and, as always, an open mic); on the rock front, Third Border, The Victory and Split Your Lip will play at the Iron Monkey at 11 pm.
SATURDAY
Be sure to get up early (and bring an umbrella or somethin’) and head to the Jersey City Museum for a three-hour walking tour of the Van Vorst Park, Paulus Hook and Waterfront neighborhoods led by local historians Leon Yost and John Gomez. The tour, which starts promptly at 9 am, is connected to the museum’s “Hudson Views” exhibition and will include an opportunity to check the show out. (The museum will open its doors at 8:30 am.) Saturday evening at Made With Love, there is an opening reception (6:30 pm) for “Boo, Bat & Pumpkin,” a show of illustrations from a children’s book by Ashley Lucas. Later that night, there is a fundraiser for Philippine typhoon/flood victims at Harbor Casino, and The Amboys and The Front Bottoms are at the Lamp Post.
SUNDAY
Today is your last chance to check out the “Nyktomorph” group show at Curious Matter; and one of the last days to check out the conceptual multimedia installation “The Time Being” at 78 Sussex St.
