Global Entrepreneurship Week Festivities in Jersey City Kick Off TodayBy Jon Whiten • Nov 16th, 2009 • Category: Blog
This morning at City Hall, local nonprofit Rising Tide Capital kicked off a series of events it is spearheading all around the city to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week. Jersey City joins communities in scores of countries celebrating the week.
Most of this week’s events, seminars and talks are free of charge and open to the public. Some highlights include a discussion of Art and Culture as Vehicles for Redevelopment on Tuesday evening; talks on “Empowering the Formerly Incarcerated” and “The Dark Side of Global Trade” on Wednesday; and a Friday evening arts/music/spoken word celebration at Duda Penteado’s Fine Art Studio. “It is our privilege to join with so many of Jersey City’s entrepreneurs and the local agencies that support
them, to highlight our entrepreneurial culture, which plays a vital role in the recovery of our local
economy,” Rising Tide CEO Alfa Demmellash says.
