For the third time in four years, the West Bergen Knitting & Crocheting Club at the West Bergen Branch Library has donated a bundle of handmade goods to those who need it as the winter season approaches. On Dec. 7, the club presented their wares to Liberty House, a nursing home on Montgomery Street.

The grand total? Fifty-six lap robes, 18 scarves, 12 hats, 12 shawls, and four hat-and-scarf sets, with gloves.

“Each time I see what these ladies accomplish, I am amazed at the beauty of their creations,” says supervising librarian Hussein Odeh, who oversees the West Bergen branch. “And knowing these handmade knitted and crocheted items will benefit someone who needs them leaves me with much respect and admiration for our West Bergen branch ladies.”

The West Bergen Knitting & Crocheting Club began in September 2004 with a dozen members. Today, there are 19 members. For more information on the group, contact the West Bergen branch at 201-547-4554.
