The second of 12 unpaid furlough days for city workers is coming this Thursday, Dec. 31. This time, only the Recreation Department will be closed. For a full list of furlough days between now and June 11, see below. And remember, the furlough days will not affect the police and fire departments. Also, autonomous agencies like the Parking Authority or the Municipal Utilities Authority will not close, and in the event of a snow emergency, streets will still be plowed. Street sweeping and garbage pick-up schedules will remain the same.

The following city offices will be closed on these days:
