PPG’s Paint-Training School Hosting Open House on Saturday
By Jon Whiten • Feb 4th, 2010 • Category: Blog, NewsThe Pittsburgh Paints Trade School, which is operated by PPG Industries as part of its community outreach in Jersey City, is getting ready to begin a new 16-week free course that will teach Jersey City residents from low-to-moderate income households how to become a professional commercial painter.
A high school diploma or GED is required to participate in the program, which offers a training certificate and job placement assistance; preference is given to individuals from Ward F.
To apply, visit the open house this Saturday, Feb. 6, from 9 am to noon, at the Garfield Avenue Renewal Company (334 Martin Luther King Drive). If you can’t make the open house, stop by that same address today or next Tuesday between 10 am and 2 pm. Classes will begin Saturday, Feb. 27 and run for 16 Saturdays.
