Emergency Blood Drive at St. Peter’s College This Wednesday

Last week’s snowstorm significantly slowed blood and platelet collections in New Jersey and New York, according to New Jersey Blood Services and the New York Blood Center. The blood supply levels are critically low, as hospital use of blood products remains high due to emergencies and cancer care.
To help make up for the blood shortfall, St. Peter’s College is hosting an emergency blood drive this Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 9 am to 3:30 pm.
To give blood, you must be in generally good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 17 years of age or 16 years of age with parental consent. People age 76 and over may donate with a doctor’s note.
Event will take place in McIntyre Lounge (2641 John F. Kennedy Blvd.). Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also make a reservation by calling 1-800-933-2566 or by visiting this website.
