Two furlough days are scheduled for city workers this week, but the majority of city offices and employees will not be affected. On Wednesday, Feb. 17, the Recreation Department will be closed. The Law Department and municipal courts will be closed two days later, on Friday, Feb. 19.

The rest of the city’s offices will remain open both days, including autonomous agencies like the Parking Authority or the Municipal Utilities Authority. In the event of a snow emergency, streets will still be plowed. Street sweeping and garbage pick-up schedules will remain the same.

Here’s the schedule for the remaining furlough days, which will run through June.

The following city offices will be closed on these days:

Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010: Recreation Department

Friday, Feb. 19, 2010: Law Department; Municipal Courts

Monday, Feb. 22, 2010: Administration; City Clerk; Health & Human Services; Housing, Economic Development & Commerce; Mayor’s Office; Public Works; Tax Assessor

Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010: Recreation Department

Friday, March 12, 2010: Administration; City Clerk; Health & Human Services; Housing, Economic Development & Commerce; Mayor’s Office; Public Works; Tax Assessor; Law Department; Municipal Courts

Friday, March 19, 2010: Administration; City Clerk; Health & Human Services; Housing, Economic Development & Commerce; Mayor’s Office; Public Works; Tax Assessor; Law Department; Municipal Courts

Wednesday, March 24, 2010: Recreation Department
