Special City Council Meeting Set for Wednesday Night

By • Feb 16th, 2010 • Category: Blog, News, Politics

The city ended up canceling last week’s scheduled City Council meeting in the midst of Wednesday’s snowstorm, so a special council meeting has been scheduled this week to consider and vote on nearly 30 resolutions and enter some communications officially into the record.

None of the ordinances that were to be considered — including ones that would potentially cut council members’ city benefits and force city-owned cable channel JC1TV to air City Council meetings — are on this week’s special agenda. Those will be considered at the Feb. 24 City Council meeting, which will also be the public hearing on the city’s controversial proposed budget.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 pm in the City Council chambers in City Hall. You can read the agenda here, and the full text of the proposed resolutions here.
