The Mailbag: JCIA Appointment Was a Handout

The total disregard for the residents of Jersey City and the “holier-than-thou” mentality is dizzying enough to cause an aneurysm. Before I go on, let me provide the definition of holier-than-thou as given by Freedictionary.com:
“Exhibiting an attitude of superior virtue; self-righteously pious.”
That certainly defines our City Council. Not a clue about how to do things right and in the same breath, try to justify their actions.
It amazes me that our city government can have the audacity (not the first word I chose) to have furloughs for city FULL TIME employees and yet in the latest council meeting try to justify appointing someone WITH benefits that will never put in the same amount of hours as a full time city employee. Most WELL RUN companies in most cases will not provide benefits to part time employees. Why Is Mr. Hejazi any more privileged? Is this another patronage appointment? The man didn’t even have enough respect for the system to submit a resume. With that said, how can anyone be confident he will respect the board he was appointed to? Besides, I am sure that he ALREADY has benefits with his CURRENT full time job.
I challenge everyone that voted to appoint Mr. Hejazi to PUBLICLY justify your vote to not only the tax paying citizens of Jersey City, but also to the very people that were furloughed due to supposed budget concerns. Sadly, I don’t really think any of you have the spine to stand up for your vote. Why? Because you already know that this, like many other idiotic votes, (remember the Parking Authority vote? Especially you David Donnelly) was simply another handout and total mismanagement our our beloved city.
One day when I have grandchildren, I will have to tell them about what WAS the City of Jersey City. At that point, is will be nothing but a pile of rubble due to people moving out. I will tell them that Jersey City was the city that the Hudson County Democratic Organization wiped out worse than any nuclear bomb could. Maybe we should have sent you guys over to Iraq. We would have gotten a 2 for 1 deal at a heck of alot cheaper cost.
