Liberty Humane Looking for Folks to Foster Kittens

Animal welfare groups around the country are getting geared up for what is known as “kitten season,” the spring and summer months when more adult cats give birth.
Jersey City’s Liberty Humane Society (LHS) is expecting more than 500 kittens this year, and it needs people to volunteer as temporary fosters. Kittens under 8 weeks old tend to get sick easily — and often die — when kept in shelters. LHS is looking to house the tiniest kittens in temporary foster homes until they are ready for adoption at about 8 to 10 weeks old.
No experience is necessary, and LHS will provide all of the supplies (food, vet care, a litter box, a crate) plus training and support.
For more information, contact Debbie Viney at LHS — 201-547-4147 or Debbie (at) libertyhumane.org.
