Organizing for America Holding ‘Vote 2010 Kickoff’ Saturday in Journal Square

Organizing for America (OFA), the community organizing project of the Democratic National Committee that was formed after President Obama was inaugurated last year, is gearing up for the 2010 Congressional midterm elections, with events planned all over the country Saturday. The goal, OFA says, is to “get as many as possible of the 15 million folks who voted for the first time in 2008 back to the polls.”

One such event is a Jersey City Vote 2010 Kickoff canvass session in Journal Square, from 10 am to 2 pm. The local group is seeking volunteers to come out and join the team as it pushes to elect members of Congress who will support and bolster the president’s legislative agenda.

The best way to do that, OFA contends, is to “get as many as possible of the 15 million folks who voted for the first time in 2008 back to the polls.”
