Jersey City Free Public Library Raises More than $7K at Fundraiser
By Jon Whiten • Jun 24th, 2010 • Category: Blog, NewsThe Jersey City Free Public Library’s “Hot Times at the Fiesta” fundraiser, held earlier this month, has raised more than $7,000, according to library director Priscilla Gardner, who adds that the figure will likely rise as not all the money has been counted yet.
All of that money will go towards the purchase and installation of security cameras throughout the library system. Cameras have already been installed at the Five Corners, Greenville and Miller branches, and the Main Library.

Seen in the photo above is library Board of Trustees treasurer John Mehos (2nd from left) with his sister-in-law Elaine, who retired from the library several years ago. They are joined by Hudson County Division of Tourism & Cultural Affairs director Bill LaRosa and his wife Suzanne Clare.
