The Liberty Science Center’s School Residency Program, which creates a focused 2-4 day learning experience for public school students centered on a chosen subject, recently received a $15,000 donation from The Provident Bank Foundation, the charitable arm of the Jersey City-based community bank. The residency program, which supports a standards-based classroom curriculum and multiple learning styles and can be customized, covers a range of scientific topics, from chemistry to forensics to food science.
“We appreciate this funding that will add even more depth to our popular multi-day residency program. Due to its level of flexibility, residencies are suitable for all types of students and learning styles including special needs students, economically ‘at risk’ students, and other student populations,” Liberty Science Center vice president of learning and teaching Dr. Deborah Cook says. “This kind of support is vital to the program’s ongoing success.”
