Heat Advisory Issued for Hudson County Today

By • Aug 5th, 2010 • Category: Blog, News

Just when you’d gotten used to some cooler weather, the stultifying heat and humidity is back with force today. Temperatures are only expected to climb to 92 degrees, but dew points flying high in the lower 70s, the heat index will likely crack 100 degrees this afternoon.

That’s led the National Weather Service to issue a Heat Advisory for Hudson County today from 11 am to 6 pm. Under the advisory, residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun and in air-conditioning as much as possible, and check on relatives and neighbors — particularly those without air-conditioning or with health issues.

Forecasters say relief will come tomorrow, with a cooler and drier airmass bringing lower temperatures and dew points for the weekend.
