This Weekend’s Best Bet

Nothing like the long Labor Day weekend to really emaciate a Cultural Calendar. Spend the next few days relaxing, enjoying the outdoors or curling up with a good book. There’s not much happening in Jersey City until next week, when the fall arts season begins in full swing.

Your sole Best Bet for the weekend is a Labor Day celebration set for Sunday night at the Journal Square Cafe; “The Wealth of the World: Songs to Celebrate Labor Day” will feature a number of local musicians performing the songs of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Leadbelly, the Weavers and other songwriters of the U.S. labor movement of the 1930s and 1940s (8 pm).
