PHOTOS: 2011 Not Yo Mama’s Craft Fair
By Richard Wilson • Jun 27th, 2011 • Category: Arts, BlogMore than 1,500 people flocked to Downtown Jersey City Saturday for the third annual Not Yo Mama’s Craft Fair. The event, which featured handmade wares from dozens of vendors, as well as live music, food and booze, was held outdoors for the first time this year, at a huge parking lot at Morgan Street. The fair organizers say they were able to donate $1,000 to arts nonprofit Peace by Piece Studio, which aims to bring community members together to make stuffed animals, pillows, and quilts for needy people in homeless shelters, domestic abuse centers, hospices, and homebound residents. (For more on Peace by Piece, check out our feature from last week.)
