The Jersey City school district has announced that it will be closed Monday, August 29 and all district programs will be canceled.
Monday was previously scheduled to be the day that all administrators were to report back to work, in advance of the September 7 start of the school year. But with the city possibly needing to use several schools as emergency shelters, and out of general precautions due to the storm, the district has decided to close.
