Filming Begins for Snooki and JWoww’s New Show

Snooki and JWoww finally arrived in Jersey City this morning, five days after production was first supposed to begin, but the converted firehouse at 38 Mercer Street wasn’t the first stop for the show’s stars.
Their show, which is reportedly called Snooki & JWoww Versus the World – the title popped up on JCList last night after some IMDB sleuthing – spent the morning driving around Downtown Jersey City pretending to look at apartments, bantering and lingering outside every door until an Italian-American “Realtor” stepped out of a white Mercedes to make a belated entrance.
(If a white Mercedes seems ostentatious, you don’t know Snooki. She’s driving a massive modified black and pink SUV with Hello Kitty decals and the words “Boss Lady” emblazoned on the rear.)
And while they travel light away from their Mercer Street home base, on the block it appeared a production crew of more than 20 people, including security, kept the show rolling. But despite their numbers, they kept the sidewalks and streets clear, spending most of the time ducking behind cars or staircases, out of residents’ way – but more importantly, staying out of the shots.
A few local families peeked out of windows but few fans lingered for long, and the only real bother to neighbors, cast and crew came from passing cars – the street is open to traffic during filming – as drivers would honk, slow down or shout out to the stars until a police officer tapped on the car and asked the driver to move on.
If you’re wondering how long this will continue, how long the production plans on staying in town, we’ll say this – in the few hours we hung around the set this morning and afternoon, the cameras only rolled for a few minutes. Snooki and JWoww haven’t even decided where they’re moving yet.
