Hamilton Park Festival Returns With Entertainment, Food, Sports Clinics & More

The Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association’s Annual Park Festival is back this Saturday with live entertainment, sports clinics, food and more.

Guests can enjoy live entertainment in the park’s gazebo from acts like Ace Case, Carmine’s Pizza Toss, DJ Evil John, JCPD K-9 Unit Demonstration, Karaoke, Lonesome Prairie Dogs, Pre-School of Rock, Surati School of Performing Arts and United Arts Capoeira.

Several food vendors will offer baked goods, ice cold treats, pizza, sandwiches and more. Lizzmonade, one of the companies offering sweet summer treats highlighted in the Summer 2012 issue of NEW, will also be at the festival. Hamilton Inn will also have a beer garden at the event.

At the festival, raffles will be held for prizes from various local businesses and organizations. The Jersey City Medical Center’s Health Van will also offer free HIV and STD screening; AmCare will offer free blood pressure tests. Kids can get free tours of the AmCare Emergency Medical Services’ ambulance.

Fesivalgoers will be able to participate in various sports clinics including a tennis clinic for adults and children from 12 pm to 2 pm, a kids’ basketball clinic from 11 am to 1 pm, and a boot camp promoting general exercise and fitness from 11:30 am o 12:15 pm. Guests can also watch the Jersey City Fire Department and Police Department face off in a basketball match at the park’s basketball court at 1:30 pm.

The festival will be held in Hamilton Park, located on Eighth Street between Hamilton Place and McWilliams Place, on Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm. For more information, visit the Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association’s website.
