LITM is calling all artists for its next group show, “Dreams of Flight.”

“Flight has been an obsession for artists since the earliest cave paintings,” says curator Andrea Morin. “From Audubon’s illustrations of birds to the myth of Icarus, from Leonardo’s designs for flying machines to images of jet planes, from angels and demons to Steampunk Zeppelins, artists are drawn to the air.”

Artists can submit works of any medium, provided the piece can be hung on a wall or ceiling. Works must be ready to hang; LITM will otherwise charge a $15 wiring fee. Artists receive 60 percent of each sale, with 40 percent going to the gallery.

To submit, artists should send JPEGs or website links to Morin andrea[at]litm.com including their name, title, medium, dimensions, and price, as well as any other pertinent information. Submissions are due Saturday, Aug. 25. Accepted artists will be notified by Aug. 29.

Accepted work must be dropped off before Sunday, Sept. 2. The drop-off windows are weekdays between 2:30 pm and 7 pm and weekends 3:30 pm to 7 pm. Late drop-offs can be made on Monday, Sept. 3, when the show is being hung between 12 pm and 1 pm. Individual arrangements can be made if necessary. The show will run from Sept. 4 through Oct. 1. For more information, visit their Facebook event page.

LITM also has other events coming up. Tomorrow is National Rum Day with Sailor Jerry with specials on shots and special cocktails. Sailor Jerry will also return on August 25 for a Tiki Luau where Jersey City Tattoo Company will DJ and give away gift certificates.
