Jersey City’s annual Polish Festival was held Sunday on Washington Street between Sussex and Grand streets.
The celebration was part of the Tapestry of Nations Ethnic Festival series and paid tribute to the Polish community’s colorful culture. The event featured Polish music, dance and native dress, often with ancestral religious and spiritual overtones. Homemade foods like kielbasa, pierogi, golambki (stuffed cabbage), placki (potato pancakes), Babka and paczki (small cakes with fruit filling) were served to attendees.
