PHOTOS: Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Fundraiser & Halloween Costume Party October 2015

On Saturday, October 24 the Harsimus Cemetery was alive and well with the sound of music. The annual Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Fundraiser presented by “Dancing Tony” Susco’s Rock-it Docket and The Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery was a great community event for all ages. Just take a look at the photos from this year’s event in our gallery below!

The cemetery was packed with creative folks dressed in costumes, local vendors provided good eats and drinks, a fun photo booth was provided by Radek Piechuta and of course lots of great live music! Ten bands performed as legendary musicians covering some of their well known and not so well known songs. Miss Ohio kicked things off at 2 pm as “Wilco” and eight hours later the event ended with a raucous finale led by Herb Wiley with members of Rye Coalition performing as “Led Zeppelin.” This year the fun and live music continued at the event’s two after-parties, one at LITM and one at Porta.

Eileen Markenstein, president of the Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery said nearly 2,000 people attended the event and $18,000 was raised. Markenstein summed up the day by saying “We are not only saving Jersey City history, we are making Jersey City History, and we are truly blessed!”
