Jersey City Pools and Sprinklers Open for 2017 Summer Season

Residents can celebrate the unofficial kickoff of the summer season this holiday weekend by taking a dip in one Jersey City’s public pools or by enjoying the sprinkler areas in Jersey City parks! The Department of Recreation will be opening the city’s public pools and water sprinklers citywide beginning today Friday, May 26.

Pershing Field Pool is the only pool open to non-residents and that charges a fee to enter. All other Jersey City public pools are free but you must be a Jersey City resident to use them. Proof of residency and a photo ID must be presented in order to enter the pools. Examples include a driver’s license, passport, utility bill, or work ID.

Adult only swim times are offered at Pershing Field and Pavonia Pool (see times below). The Department of Recreation also offers open swim and learn to swim programs for residents of every age. The city website still lists the 2016 swimming program information, to get information on the city’s 2017 learn to swim programs call the Dept. of Recreation at 201-547-5003.

Monday through Friday from 7:00 am – 6:30 pm. (Saturday, Sunday and Holidays same as above.)
