Last call for submissions for the 7th annual Golden Door International Film Festival (GDIFF), voted the number one film festival in New Jersey by NJ Stage Magazine for the past two years. The final deadline to submit is June 19. All submissions must be a North New Jersey premiere. Submission fees range from $25 to $55. Film categories include: Narrative Feature, Short Film, Documentary, Student Film, Women in Cinema, LGBT, NJ Filmmakers of Tomorrow (Must be a Hudson County High School student), Local Film, Films For Raising Awareness and Music Video.

The 2017 Golden Door International Film Festival will be held October 5 to 8. This four-day festival is an opportunity for filmmakers, actors and crew to network with colleagues and share their work with the public. Next door to New York City, Jersey City has become the premiere destination in New Jersey. The festival’s screenings, after parties, and gala celebrations all take place at some of the most beautiful venues Jersey City has to offer. Bill Sorvino, nephew of Paul Sorvino and cousin of Mira Sorvino, is the event’s founder.

The mission of the Golden Door International Film Festival is to afford all filmmakers the opportunity to be on an equal platform, from the burgeoning filmmaker to some of the most well-known actors and established directors and producers in the industry today. In addition, GDIFF has become an important outlet to raise awareness about Autism and other disabilities through film.

Past sponsors have included Tommy Hilfiger and Autism Speaks. Autism themed movies like Jack of the Red Hearts starring Famke Janssen and Anna Sophia Robb have premiered at the festival, along with appearances by these stars. Most recently, director-actor John Asher of One Tree Hill and Weird Science appeared at GDIFF to screen his 2016 feature Po, about a single dad raising his autistic child. Do not miss the opportunity to have work screened at this exciting event!

The final deadline to submit is June 19. Submit your film for consideration through the FilmFreeway Platform.
