Hudson County Council of MoveOn.org Holds Rally at Journal Square to ‘Make the Big Banks Pay’

A small group of protesters attended the Hudson County Council of MoveOn.org’s “Make the Big Banks Pay” rally on Thursday by the fountain in Journal Square. Dave Stump, the local council organizer, said the event was one of 137 similar rallies happening around the country and kicked it off with a “make banks pay!” chant. Protesters handed out fliers and asked passersby to sign a petition.

Hundreds of people flocked to Downtown Jersey City Sunday for the Powerhouse Arts District Neighborhood Association’s (PADNA) 5th annual BBQ & Street Fair, which had been moved from Saturday due to the threat of thunderstorms. They were treated to good food, lots of live music, local wares from artists and artisans, a breakdancing display and a whole lot more. Even the soccer crazed were taken care of, with a screening of the World Cup final match on a big screen in Parlay Studios.
