It’s not every day that a co-leader of the Dead Milkmen plays in Jersey City, but it does appear to be happening more and more frequently. Joe Jack Talcum’s show with local faves Any Day Parade at the Iron Monkey on Friday, March 5 was in fact his second appearance (so far) at a JC Fridays event.
The Jersey City Museum is quite the posh setting for a rock show in Jersey City — a town in which stages are commodities in the most literal sense. But then, Higgins is not just any local rock band. They are quite probably the finest pop craftsmen with Hudson County roots that we have seen in the last decade or so.
While the blues legend has called Jersey City home since 1995, his show at the Loew’s this Friday will be the first time in his storied career that he’s ever performed in the city.
In the past, Damian Catera has joked that as an experimental composer/musician and media artist, he works in a genre which often appears to have more participants than audience members.
