PHOTOS: 2nd Annual Not Yo Mama’s Craft Fair

On Saturday, April 17, about 1,000 folks from Jersey City and beyond descended on Parlay Studios to check out handmade goods from scores of vendors, listen to music from some of Jersey City’s finest, nibble on some food and hang out. In the process, the fair raised at least $1,500 for the local nonprofit Arts to Grow (the organizers are still tallying everything up.) All in all, the organizers say the event was a big success, and we’ve got the photographic evidence to prove it.

Not Yo Mama’s Craft Fair Comes Back Bigger and Craftier

After last year’s debut went off swimmingly, the team of young, sassy and excited Jersey City crafters behind the fair — Megan Gülick, Sophie Penkrat and Leah Siegel-Picus — decided they needed to expand this year. “It was a trial run for us,” Gülick explains. “The response showed how much people were looking for this.”
