Today’s Final Furlough Day Has Most City Offices Closed

The last of 12 unpaid furlough days for city workers is today, and it will shut down most city offices. The Recreation Department will remain open, as will the police and fire departments, which were not subject to the furlough orders.

Most City Offices Closed for Furlough on Friday, Holiday on Monday

Almost all city offices will be closed tomorrow, May 28 for a furlough day and Monday, May 31 for the Memorial Day holiday. As usual, the furlough day will not impact the police and fire departments. On the Monday holiday, garbage pickup will continue but street sweeping will be suspended.
