From the Fire That Gutted His Home, Kendall Messick’s ‘Impermanence’ is Born

After a 2006 fire consumed his personal possessions, ruined some of his artwork, and left his Heights house a smoking shell filled with brunt rubble, Messick did not focus on salvaging whatever he could from the charred and water-damaged property, Instead, he set out to document the home’s transformation, in pictures.
