“Chefs are probably the worst eaters in the world. We eat everything on the fly, standing up,” Freda says. “People think we sit down and have a steak or veal chop and a glass of wine. But we don’t close from 3 to 5 because we get a decent crowd from the courthouse. I never leave the kitchen.”
