UPDATE, SEPTEMBER 28 at 7:30 AM: Velazquez’s proposal was successfully introduced at Tuesday night’s meeting, while Fulop’s veto override measure failed. It appears that after months of debate and numerous failed ordinances trying to address the issue — as well as a mayoral veto — a number of city-owned vehicles will in fact be demarcated with the city’s seal. In the end, however, the law’s sponsor may not in fact be Ward E councilman Steven Fulop, despite his initial push for decals that began more than a year ago.
